Due to spam attacks I had to password protect editing. The password is the web standard you use to define the presentation of a web site (in uppercase). XI had a client that I was fortunate enough to have that was receptive to being educated about what it actually means to be online. I did mention web standards but focussed on the larger picture of what it means to have an identity online and how you benefit from using many different services to propogate that identity. The fact that by using proper markup, it becomes easier to merge these services into a coherent identity with good visibility online via syndication. I was even lucky enough for them to appreciate semantic markup, I put a blog online for them but explained to them the different kinds of information they were using and how it should be done when adding it to the site. I would probably think this is a fringe case but I guess it has a lot to do with the client and the rappor you have with them. |
